Sponsored by the Chicago Jewish Historical Society and the Caxton Club

Robb Packer

Join us for a dynamic Zoom program, Chicago’s Historic Synagogues, presented by longtime Chicago Jewish Historical Society member Robb Packer, an authority on Chicago synagogues and the author of Doors of Redemption: The Forgotten Synagogues of Chicago (BookSurge Publishing, 2006) and Chicago’s Forgotten Synagogues (Arcadia Publishing, 2007). Robb, who is writing a new encyclopedic book on Chicago’s synagogues and Jewish community centers, will be focusing his presentation on North Side shuls, including those in Albany Park, Division Street, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, and West Town.

Robb Packer is a former history teacher and is a professional building consultant and freelance photographer. His work has appeared in many local publications. Packer’s goal has been to document the many old synagogues and communal buildings before they meet the wrecking ball.

Please join us for a fascinating look at this important piece of Chicago’s Jewish history. Register here.

Zoom presentation is free and open to all. Registration is required.
